How long will it take to complete my project?
This depends on what’s involved. It could take a couple of days or a few weeks. I’ll tell you up-front when I expect your project to be completed. I’ll take your time-frames seriously and do all I can to meet them. Is it always you doing the writing? Yes. I do all the writing myself. I work for myself and do not outsource any work. How much do you charge? I don’t change by the hour, page or word. I understand the need to work within your budget and will give you a fixed price project fee before I start working with you. This includes a briefing meeting, phone calls, research, writing, editing and proofreading. I’ll stick to this quote, so, there are no surprises for you at the end of the project. If you decide to add information not included in the initial brief, I’m happy to accommodate it, but may need to revise the fee. Do you require a deposit? Yes, I require a 25% deposit of the project fee once I receive a signed proposal. I will invoice you the remaining 75% on completion of the job. An up-front deposit is standard practice for copywriters. In fact, most copywriters charge a 50% deposit. Do I have to pay for your time at meetings? The initial briefing meeting is included in the project fee. Any subsequent meetings may be charged at a rate of $70 per hour, including travel time. I do not charge for telephone calls or advice via email or Skype. What qualifications do you have? I hold a Diploma of Marketing Management and a BA Communications. I have also completed two copywriting training courses with the Australian Writers' Centre. I am a committed lifelong learner and continuously update my skills and knowledge by keeping up-to-date with industry trends, following industry leaders and through reading and research. What is your copywriting experience? I’ve been writing copy since 1995 when I began my corporate career in professional services marketing. I can write anything from a press release, brochure or email, to blogs and websites and more. I also have many years experience in proposals writing and strategy. What industry experience do you have? I have written, managed and delivered web and print marketing communications across a range of industries including energy and resources, healthcare, consumer products, telecommunications, construction and engineering, intellectual property, accounting, finance and insolvency. Do you offer other creative services? No. I can however recommend talented web designers/developers, illustrators, graphic designers and photographers. Can you optimise my website for search engines (SEO)? I can help you integrate the right keywords and phrases into your content. This is just one aspect of SEO. I can refer you to a reputable SEO company who can help you with other aspects of SEO to increase your search engine rankings. Will you upload the final copy to my website? No. This is something your web developer or you will need to do. While I have some experience with WordPress websites, it's not my area of expertise and not part of my service offering. A good web developer should provide you with guidance and/or training to maintain your website content. How many revisions and changes can I make? You can make as many revisions and changes as you wish until you’re happy with the content. Most copywriters allow only two sets of revisions. Do you offer discounted fees for community groups and not-for-profit agencies? Yes. I love working for community groups and not-for-profits and offer them discounted fees. What if I’m not happy with what you’ve written? This has never happened and I don’t expect it to. However, if what I’ve written is not at all what you were expecting, then we’ll need to review the brief to understand what went wrong. |
