How I work
|
Here's how I approach all copywriting projects, so you know what to expect.
Step 1 - A brief chat Give me a call and we'll chat about your project. How big it is, who it's needed for and when it's needed. You can also ask me questions, to get a sense of whether I'm the right copywriter for you. Step 2 - Quote I’ll email you a quote which includes scope of work, approximate time-frame, fee, inclusions, exclusions, and terms and conditions. I don’t charge by the word, page or hour. I give a fixed price quote for every job, so you know what you’re committing to up-front and there's no unwelcome surprises! Once you've signed and returned a copy of the quote, I’ll invoice 25% of the project fee before I commence the job. I’ll invoice you the balance when I complete the job. (Most copywriters charge a 50% deposit.) Step 3 - The brief Once I receive the 25% deposit, I'll send you a detailed brief to consider. The brief is the most important part of the copywriting process as the information I receive will frame the basis of the copy. The brief will help me find out as much as possible about your business, its products and/or services, marketing strategy, competitors etc. Don't worry, I'll help you complete it if needed! The more time and care you take when completing the brief, the easier your project will be and the better the copy will be! Step 4 - Research and writing Once I've received 25% of the project fee, the brief, quote approval and all the information I need, I'll start my research, then begin writing. Depending on the size of the project, I may write a sample page for your review, to make sure I’m on the right track. I'll also contact you by phone or email during the writing process if I have any questions. Step 5 - Revision and editing Once I've drafted the entire content, I email it to you in Word. You mark up any comments and changes and email it back to me. I’ll then send you a second draft. This process continues until you're a happy client! I then send my final invoice for payment. Step 6 - Feedback When the job is completed, I’ll ask you for your honest feedback. This will help me develop and improve my business and client service. I also ask all my clients for a testimonial to feature on my website. |
